:: Allelujah's Split Personality::
The Theory behind Allelujah's Split Personality

So, is he schizophrenic by nature? Or is it a result of the HRL's experiments? My take on this is that it is a result of the HRL's experiments.

Notice the shift of his fringe whenever Hallelujah re-surface? His right eye is hazel, the same eye color as those of Soma Peiris. I suspect that she is the only successful experiment of the HRL so far, why else would the HRL place so much importance on her life and safety, believing that she is their best and only weapon against the gundams. Hence, the different eye colours of Allelujah also seem to suggest that he is a failed experiment.

This failed experiment theory could also be used to be explained the unstability of his character. Soma, who I assumed is a sucessful experiment, has no apprent schizophrenia as far as I can see, and is unquestioningly loyal to the HRL. This may be due to the tinkering of her brain and her personality (kind of like the Extended in Seed). Perhaps, having the same hazel color in both her eyes is a sign of that being sucessful, just as Allelujah having different coloured eyes means that in his case, they failed to tinker with him sucessfully and resulted in his 'Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde' syndrome.

I think that Allelujah's gray eye represents his original personality and the hazel eye his 'tinkered with' personality, unlike what he himself thinks. The hazel eye personality seems to represent Hallelujah, the evil twin. Why I think it is created by the HRL is that they wanted to create a supersoldier who have enough meaness and cruelty in him, so that he would not shy away from taking lives. And this is the complete opposite of Allelujah, who detests taking lives and went as far as to abandon his original mission to save lives when 200 over lives are at stake, and this earned him punishment instead.

I also think that the trigger behind his personality change is Soma Peiris. So far, the change is triggered after they are near each other and he got one of his splitting headaches.

Whatever the nature of this split personality, I think that unless Allelujah can avoid Soma, which is impossible, or he can do something about his reaction to her proximity, like what the HRL's scientists did to her, he is going to suffer from alot more episodes of unconsiousness or personality change. He is also going to struggle with the monster side of him. People in the Celestial Being really have a lot of identity problems. Hell, it's probably got to do with the secrecy issue, code names and the way they recruit new members.

From episode 11 of Gundam 00, it would appear that my theory of this split personality is artificial is correct.
